Airport to City Centre

Sources genuinely disagree here. Some describe a fixed flat rate of €24 by day and €32 by night. Others state plainly that Thessaloniki airport has no flat fare at all, and that taxis run on the meter, typically landing around €30–40 for the same short run. Confirm with your driver before the ride starts rather than assuming either way. The public bus, numbered 78 by OASTH, covers the same route in about 40 minutes for roughly €2, running every 15 minutes.

Airport to Halkidiki — the Real Demand Driver

More people search for a Halkidiki transfer from this airport than for the plain city-centre route, and pricing depends heavily on which of the three peninsulas you're headed to. Kassandra, the closest, runs roughly €80–125 and 50–70 minutes depending on the exact resort — Nea Moudania at the low end, Polichrono at the higher end. Sithonia, the middle peninsula, runs €130–140 and about 90 minutes. Athos, the farthest, can take up to 2 hours and typically costs €130 or more. The budget alternative is a two-leg bus journey, not one direct service. Bus 79A or 79B from the airport to the Halkidiki KTEL coach terminal costs under €1 and takes about 14 minutes, then a separate onward KTEL bus continues to your specific destination, with its own fare and schedule.
