Practical Tips for Serifos
Getting there. Ferry from Piraeus: about 2.5 hours (high-speed) or 4.5 hours (conventional). Serifos is on the western Cyclades route β ferries continue to Sifnos (~30 min) and Milos (~1 hour). No airport.
Book your ferry to Serifos in advance via Ferryscanner β it covers all routes from Piraeus and lets you compare schedules for the western Cyclades loop.
A car or ATV is essential. The best beaches β Psili Ammos (the standout, golden sand, turquoise water), Ganema, Agios Sostis, Vagia β are scattered around the island on unpaved roads. A 4x4 or ATV handles the terrain best. Livadi and the Chora are connected by a paved road and regular bus.
The beaches. Psili Ammos (southeast coast) is one of the most beautiful beaches in the Cyclades β golden sand, shallow turquoise water, usually uncrowded. Ganema (south coast) is wild and empty. Agios Sostis (northeast) is large and sandy. Livadakia (near the port) is the most accessible.
