Santorini Airport to Imerovigli: €20–40, Between Fira and Oia

Imerovigli sits about 8–10 km from the airport, roughly 2 km past Fira along the caldera edge — putting it squarely between Fira and Oia in both distance and price, further than Fira's short hop, closer than the full run out to Oia. Expect 15–25 minutes by taxi or private transfer, a taxi typically €20–30, a private transfer €25–40.

Same Logistics as Fira, a Very Different Place

The transfer itself is nearly identical to the Fira route — same road most of the way, just a couple of kilometres further along the cliff. What's different is what's waiting for you at the other end. Imerovigli is known as the Balcony to the Aegean, the highest point on the caldera rim, and it's dramatically quieter than either Fira or Oia — mostly boutique hotels and villas with cliffside infinity pools rather than the shops and bars that define its two more famous neighbours. If you want caldera views and sunset without Oia's crowds or Fira's nightlife, this is usually why you're here.

Getting Here by Bus

No direct bus, but the practical workaround is easier than most other villages, since Imerovigli is close enough to Fira that a taxi from Fira's bus station is a short, cheap hop rather than a long haul. Take the airport bus to Fira, then either walk the roughly 30–40 minutes along the caldera path if you're travelling light, or grab a short taxi for the final stretch.

Booking Ahead

Given how close this is to Fira logistically, a taxi at the rank is a reasonable fallback here, same as Fira. The bigger reason to pre-book isn't availability — it's the walk at the other end. Many Imerovigli properties sit down steps or along narrow cliffside paths cars can't reach, so confirm with your hotel what the actual drop-off point will be before you land.
